The Faith Formation Program at St. Jerome is concerned with the ongoing religious formation of the St. Jerome Catholic Community. The philosophy behind the program is based on the church’s teaching that parents are the primary religious educators of their youth; parents have a great influence on their children’s religious and moral lives.
Our program is designed (1) to share with parents transformative experiences and wisdom from our Catholic heritage to assist parents in nurturing their children's religious and moral development and (2) to provide for children and youth significant religious education and formation activities.
Our program has a strong emphasis on the empowerment of our youth for virtuous living; it treats the various dimensions of our faith and how they can strengthen the moral lives of young people. Faith is to be lived. As Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my father who is in heaven” (Matt 7:21).
